As a new way of recycling, humans have genetically modified a rodent-like creature to be able to grow paper fins out of its back. The creature eats paper waste as its diet and through the creature’s unique digestive system, the paper is recycled resulting in layers of paper fins that grows out of its back. This paper is then ready to be plucked off of the creature and ready to be used.

This idea was inspired by a little creature in the anime, Those Who Hunt Elves, where there is a tiny bear-like creature, which excretes rolls of toilet paper for humans to use.

The creature would be highly domesticated as it was genetically modified for humans to harvest its paper. Could replace a paper shredder as it actually recycles the paper as soon as the creature consumes it.
